Highly Esteemed

And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16:15

Jesus Christ declares that the highly esteemed by men is abomination to God. Things that you give highest value, priority, first and foremost in life. You rendered unequal estimation that you cannot live without it.

It could be things that we treasure where your heart is. Treasure becomes a treasure depending on what your heart dictates the value of it. These are highly esteemed by men.

1. Fame.

People would do anything to get famous. Celebrities are riding high with their social status of greatness. Jesus said, “he that is highly exalted shall be abased.” God will bring down the high and the mighty. Watch the news to see what is happening.

2.Fortune

People get rich because they are fortunate in life. Maybe they were born from a rich family or in a country that gives opportunity to be wealthy. Jesus condemned the rich who are slaved of material things. Riches is not a guarantee to a happy life. In fact, it could be a lingering curse in your family.

3.Family and friends

We ought to love our families and friends but that should not stand between our God and us. First of all, we should love Our Lord God with all our hearts, minds and souls. Our love ones are only second to God.

According to Jesus, God hates when men highly esteemed others, put higher value than God Himself. We can argue and justify our actions, however what Jesus have said prevails.

Everlasting Life

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:15-16

All lives started from the Life. He who claimed to be the Life is Jesus Christ. (John 14:6) Living things are not eternal from the beginning of time. The genesis of time and existence is the eternal life. He who does not have the beginning and ending is the “eternal life”. Only the Life can give eternal life. Humans  birth to a child and living things do multiply their own species.

The Holy Spirit is the only one who can bestow everlasting life through faith in Jesus Christ. Everlasting Life in Christ Jesus is an uninterrupted melody of life according to the composition of a divine Composer.

Jesus Christ is not the beginning of life, the first creation of the almighty. The Word is before the beginning and was before everything that was made as recorded in the book of Genesis.

By definition, everlasting Life never ceases, never ends and therefore should not perish. Every true believer in Christ has everlasting Life. Those who believe in Him and follow His words shall never die. Our bodies die but not our soul and spirit. Our dead bodies will be resurrected into new life as promised by the Resurrection and the Life. (John 11:25)

Fake News

A fake news is not a good news nor a bad news. It is not a news. It is in disguise as a news but actually a propaganda to discredit other person.

The words of Jesus Christ are all true and reliable. Every dot of His words is bound to materialize as it will come to pass according to its purpose. The real news is centrally bound in the person of Jesus Christ. He is the Truth and there no lie or darkness in Him. Even a bad news is a good news in Jesus Christ. He can turn our miseries to joy, fear to comfort and death to life.

It would be foolish not to celebrate the day Jesus came to this world. We don’t know what day and date He came but we are thankful that He came to dwell among us. In fact, we can celebrate our new life in Christ everyday of the year whether the birth date of Jesus is on December 25 of each year or not.

The message of the angels from heaven is good news to everyone. Never a fake one. The world we lived in are full of fake things. Very few things are real anymore. People are lost in the sea of false illusions perpetuated by modern “false prophets.”

3 Things to remember on October.

There are three things every believer of Jesus Christ should know and always remember regardless of what religion do you belong. These 3 WWW of our website represent these following points; the Will, the Word and the Works.

1) The will of the Father is most important to be done in every step of the way of our lives. His will is sovereign above all and in all of us. Jesus prayed that not His will but the will of His Father be done on Him. He surrendered His will to the will of God the Father. He taught His disciple to pray that the will of our Father be done on earth as in heaven. God’s will is carried out by the Holy Spirit silently and without delay no matter we are aware of it or not.

“Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

“O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” Matthew 26:39

2) The words of Jesus Christ must be followed thoroughly because they are the expressed will of God our Father. His words are the absolute truth. The basis of what is true or not. They are the standard measurement of life and death. We live and die according to His words. To know the will of God the Father is to know the words of Christ. The Son was sent to deliver the divine message from the Father. Whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

3) The works of the Holy Spirit are manifested and executed by will of God the Father. The Spirit works according to His will. He fulfills the words of Christ into being. The Holy Spirit is actively working every moment of the day or night, doing the will of God on earth as it is in heaven. Behind of all we see that moves the Holy Spirit is the prime mover and force, working together for good of all of us. The Holy Spirit is the energy of God, the power behind everything. The Spirit moves constantly so as God moves invisibly. The Spirit of God is the embodiment of the great force in the universe.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall NOT be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall NOT be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

This is powerful warning of Jesus Christ not to speak against the Holy Spirit. We have no explanation why blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable offense against God, the highest Being of all the universe. We just rely on what Jesus said about offending the Holy Spirit by way of blasphemy which is mainly speaking against the integrity of the person of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is a vey sensitive Person. What He hears become part of His Person. Our prayers and petitions are important to Him. Maybe as important as the words of Jesus to Him. He respects the words of Jesus He hears, which are forever recorded in His mind to be relayed to every believer during their time of remembering.

The Holy Spirit is a serious Person. He takes very word of Jesus seriously. The promises of Jesus to Him are not meant to be jokes or to be taken lightly. Though He is a serious Person, He is a joyful Person for the fruit of the Spirit is joy. The Spirit of God is well of joy for every believer who trusted Jesus Christ and His words.

The Holy Spirit is pure and sinless Person. Jesus called Him, “Holy”so He must be a perfect person without any flaws or imperfections. He is a totally complete Person, self-sufficient divine Being. We need Him more than He needed us. To speak against Him is detrimental to our cause. We should think twice before we open our mouths in disrespect against the Holy One.

Still at closing, we don’t have an answer why the Holy Ghost chooses not to forgive the sin of blasphemy against the most Holy One.

The Deity of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is part of the Godhead. There is only one God but the Godhead constitutes three persons. Why do we think that the Holy Spirit is God? Well, Jesus said that God is a Spirit. (John 4:24) The Spirit of God was present from the beginning of time and the co-creator of all things. We may therefore conclude that the Holy Spirit is a Deity who deserves respect, more than an errand boy in the New Testament. It is not fair to treat the Holy Spirit as mascot or a cheerleader of the church establishment. The Holy Spirit is a Spiritual Being and not a fictional friendly ghost.

This is a critical question. Does the Holy Spirit has the ability to love? Does He have an affection or a feeling? If God is love, the Holy Spirit is love too because He is equal with God. In fact, the fruit of the Spirit is love. The Holy Spirit as a helper and comforter must have the love to take care of us. He emphatizes with us in the time of our needs. He knows everything about us for He resides within us. The Holy Ghost cares as well as the Lord Jesus Christ.

There is revival in the presence of the Holy Spirit. When  we allow Him to move in His own way, a spiritual renewal can come to sweep us. Churches are dry and dying, they need a river of living water, a visitation of God’s Spirit. “Not by might nor power but by my Spirit,” says the Lord of Host.

Next time, we will discuss the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit to show how real He is.

The Person of the Holy Spirit.

Our Lord Jesus Christ named himself the great omnipotent, ever present spirit of God as the Holy Spirit. The name is sacred, holy and beyond reproach. The name represents a divine Person who is real according to Jesus. Every believer should treat the Holy Sprit like we treat the Father and the Son. We refrain from unnecessary argument whether there are equally three Persons in one God. We just believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person because that was the way Jesus presented the Holy Spirit to us.

Jesus said the world does not know the Holy Spirit while His followers can know intimately the Holy Spirit of Truth. We shall know the Truth and the Truth shall makes us free. The world operates mainly through the flesh and not through the Spirit. They are carnally minded and blinded from the absolute Truth. They thrive in darkness rather than in light.

Let us remember that the Holy Spirit is here on earth because elected to be with His Father. The Spirit of Christ lives in us though He is not physically present in this world. The Holy Ghost does the work of Christ as another helper and He is only person who can take the role of Christ on earth. It is wrong to assume that the church is the substitute of Christ. Without the Holy Spirit, the church is powerless and useless like the salt of the earth with no taste. When the Holy Spirit comes as Christ promised, we shall receive power, we shall have the divine enabling to do the task He wanted us to do.

The Holy Spirit is ready to help in times of our need. Call and talk to Him. Why not? Most people wanted to talk to Jesus in prayer. Some pray to the Father but few talks to the Holy Spirit. It takes time to develop a close relationship with the Holy Spirit because we may not be used to it. The Power of God can be restored in your life if you treat the Holy Ghost as a Being, a person you can trust.
