What Jesus says about heaven?

“Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.”

Matthew 6:9-10

Heaven must be real when Jesus spoke about it. Jesus lied if heaven does not really existed somewhere. Heaven is a place far beyond the sphere of earth’s galaxy. Jesus revealed where He came from, he was with His Father from the beginning of time but came down from above, clearly from heaven.

Jesus Christ taught His disciples to pray in this manner, “Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Your will be done on earth as in heaven”. There are two distinguished places, the heaven and the earth. Jesus also gave a clue to where heaven is. Occasionally, He looked up in heaven when prayed, so heaven is up therein contrast to where He was. Anywhere we are, whether on the top of the world or at the bottom of the world, heaven is above us considering the universe infinitely surrounds us.

“He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.” John 8:31-34

Lately, astronomers are discovering new large “black holes” with numberless light source like that of the sun. They might be peeking the tail of heaven. Those who believe in heaven would not be losers if there is no heaven but for those who do not believe of heaven would lose a great deal if heaven is real.

Our faith is in Jesus Christ not on heaven. Jesus is the word and will of our Father. He is more important to us than heaven itself. He is our life and light in heaven. Even on earth we have the taste of heaven when we live by His words. What profits a man if he gains the whole world and miss heaven now and forever?

Later Jesus said to them again, “I am going away. You will search for me but will die in your sin. You cannot come where I am going.”

The people* asked, “Is he planning to commit suicide? What does he mean, ‘You cannot come where I am going’?”

Jesus continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You belong to this world; I do not. 24 That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be,* you will die in your sins.”  John 8:2-24

Who is the Lord of the devil?

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.                      Matthew 4:8-11

Jesus Christ is the Lord of all. He is the Truth, the Way and the Life as He claimed to be. Satan is the devil, the father of lies and everything that is not of the truth. He is the peddler of falsehood. He lives in darkness of artificial lights and evil thoughts. He uses mass media a lot for he is the prince of the airwaves.

He tempted Jesus but failed miserably. Satan wanted Jesus to fall like him, down to the bottomless pit of human experience. He also would like Jesus to worship him, and be the lord above Jesus Christ. Satan tempted Jesus because he wanted to know if He was the same Lord from the beginning of time before the Christ became a man. This is the battle of lordship. Who has to surrender its supremacy? Jesus won the battle for us.

The devil was willing to give up you, me and the rest of the world provided Jesus would worship him. We are definitely included in the kingdom and glory of this world. No death and sufferings are needed to recover that which was lost. At that instance, Jesus could have escaped Calvary if He succumbed to the tempting offer of Satan.

Jesus spoke and rebuked the devil saying, “Away with you, Satan“. This is the simple way of getting rid of Satan. Live for Christ and away from Satan. Darkness is the absence of light. Light and darkness don’t mix or live in cohabitation. Jesus is the Light of the world. Get rid of Him and we are in total darkness even in daylight. We can not think right and no moral values to love and respect others if we are living under the power of darkness.

Now here is the final words of Christ to Satan, “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve”. The devil left Jesus alone for losing the battle of lordship. The angels afterwards came and ministered to Jesus Christ as their Lord. Who is the Lord of the spirits? Who is the Lord of the devil? Jesus Christ is the Lord of lords and the time will come that every knee shall bow to Him in full subjection every tongue shall confess that He is Lord.
