If ye keep my commandments,
ye shall abide in my love;
even as I have kept my Father’s commandments,
and abide in his love.
These things have I spoken unto you,
that my joy might remain in you,
and that your joy might be full.
This is my commandment,
That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Jesus spoke His words with joyful heart. His joy is in His words. The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is a “glad tiding” because the message of good news came out of His cheerful spirit. He has spoken to us that His joy may remain in us. You see, Jesus is a happy person and His sermon in the Mount, the Beatitude is a road map for happy living. Jesus looked for the joy, the joy of giving His life for us. His life, death and resurrection is a masterful symphony of joy.
His commandment is a message of love. Love one another as He loved us. Our joy will be full as we obey his commandment. Our joy will never be complete unless we follow our Lord to the fullest. Jesus kept His Father’s will to abide in His Father’s love. Let us obey Jesus to abide in His love or love Him to death to make us obey His commandment.
Are you happy serving for Jesus? Are you filled with joy to know God as our Father? No man can take away the joy we have in Christ. Our joy is His Joy; He said , “that MY JOY might remain in you.” We can ask our Father anything in His name that our joy may be full. The joy of the Lord is our Strength. Listening to His Voice is a joyful thing to hear. Reading His Words is feasting with Him in a blessed fellowship in the Spirit.
And ye therefore now have sorrow:
but I will see you again,
and your heart shall rejoice,
and your joy no one taketh away from you.
And in that day ye shall ask me no question.
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
if ye shall ask anything of the Father,
he will give it you in my name.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name:
ask, and ye shall receive,
that your joy may be made full.
