God the Father

Jesus answered them and said,

“Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me,

not because you saw the signs,

but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

Do not labor for the food which perishes,

but for the food which endures to everlasting life,

which the Son of Man will give you,

because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

John 6:26-27

God the Father has given us His Son, the bread of life. Jesus Christ is the true bread from heaven.  The Father is of Jesus Christ is our Father. We cannot make a mistake in identifying our Father as long as we consider the God the Father of Jesus Christ as our Father. We believe in God and we believe also in Jesus Christ. (John 14:1) What if we don’t believe in the words of Jesus Christ about His Father? We are then, totally in the dark  in identifying the God the Father. We know the true God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus Christ is the Word of God and nothing else. The Word that was with God from the beginning is the bread of Life. Anyone or anything that grabs the title of being the Word of God is a blasphemy. Let us not call a book or an object as the Word of God. Man shall not live by (natural) bread alone but by every word that proceeded from the mouth of God. The bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.

The teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ are the words of God the Father. Jesus did not give His personal opinion or private interpretation on anything He said. His will was always subjected to the will of His Father. All of His words were perfectly delivered and measured with precision. No wasted words. Every word is bound to come to pass. All His words came from the God the Father fresh and pure. He didn’t open His mouth for nothing. His words are not very many, in fact they can be stored in our memory with the help of the Holy Spirit.

 Then Jesus said to them,

“Most assuredly, I say to you,

Moses did not give you the bread from heaven,

but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

For the bread of God is He who comes down

from heaven and gives life to the world.”

Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”

 And Jesus said to them,

“I am the bread of life.

He who comes to Me shall never hunger,

and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me,

and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

For I have come down from heaven,

not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

This is the will of the Father who sent Me,

that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing,

but should raise it up at the last day.

And this is the will of Him who sent Me,

that everyone who sees the Son and

believes in Him may have everlasting life;

and I will raise him up at the last day.”

John 6:32-40

LOVING OUR FATHER

He who has My commandments and keeps them,

it is he who loves Me.

And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father,

and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him,

“Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us,

and not to the world?”

Jesus answered and said to him,

 “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word;

and My Father will love him,

and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

 He who does not love Me does not keep My words;

and the word which you hear is not Mine

but the Father’s who sent Me.

 John 14:21-24

I will say it again, it is impossible to love the invisible God without the Words of Jesus Christ. He is the only one who teaches us to consider the God of the universe as our Father. He came to this world to give us all a heavenly Father. Jesus was killed by teaching the fact that we have a Father in heaven who loves us and will provide everything we need. Jesus forgave us of our sins to be reconciled to our Father. The true meaning of salvation is going back home to our Father we loved dearly.

We can love God if we keep the commandments or teachings of Christ. The reason we are keeping His words is because we love Him. This should be the only motivation why we are obeying His words. We love Him so dearly. We love Jesus Christ not only because He gave His life for us but because of the fact that He gave us a Father. He teaches us to pray to our Father.

We will know our God as Jesus manifest Himself to us. Read and meditate upon His Words and He will manifest Himself to us. The revelation or self disclosure of the Father is through His Son, Jesus Christ. What we hear from Jesus Christ is from our Father. God spoke through His Son. You hear and not see to know God, hearing the spoken words of Jesus Christ in the Gospel. Your “God” is different from my God if we don’t have the same Father in Jesus Christ. And there is only one true God.

Many people are “inventing” God, the creation of their futile minds or the fruit of their imaginations. The gods in their minds are not the same or identical. Each mind has its own concept of God. There are billions of people who have created or invented billions of gods to worship and serve blindly. You’ve got to have a reliable point of reference or a central figure before you reach mentally and spiritually the invisible One. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life no man comes to the Father by me. No one can come to know God but by the Lord Jesus Christ.

HOW DO YOU LOVE GOD?

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

 Jesus said unto him,

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul,

and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it,

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Matt 22:36-40

 And Jesus answered him,

The first of all the commandments is,

Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul,

and with all thy mind,

and with all thy strength:

this is the first commandment.

And the second is like, namely this,

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

There is none other commandment greater than these.

Mark 12:29-31

Loving the Lord our God is the first and greatest commandment according to our Lord Jesus Christ. It is clear that there is none other commandment greater than this commandment.

Loving our neighbor comes only next to this supreme commandment. We are breaking the Law by not loving enough the God we know regardless of our religious convictions. This principle applies to all religions of the world.

Now the question is how do we love our God? Is there a way to know how to love God?

How do you love someone whom you can’t see nor touch? How can you honestly love someone who is unfathomable and infinite? We need to know first who we love. Knowing is the foundation of true and lasting love. We don’t love and worship an unknown God. There no way of knowing the true God. You must be like God to know God. God is forever transcendent. No one has seen God in His totality. How can an ant see a whale as a whole?

We can only know God through Jesus Christ. He tells the way for He is the Way to know and love God. The first thing He wants us to do to love our Lord our God is to take His Father as our Father. His earthly mission is to give us a Father who is in heaven. He did not introduce us to the God of the universe. We’ve got to establish a relationship with His Father. We can’t come to the Father but by Jesus Christ for He is the Way, The Truth and the Life. We shall know and love God if we treat Him as our Father. No Father is equal to no God at all.

The words of Jesus Christ are from His Father and not from Himself. As we see Jesus Christ through His words, we also see our Father. In a sense, Jesus is the image or reflection of His Father. Jesus the Word is what I mean, not the man, made out of human flesh. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

I shall continue in this subject in my next installment, but for the meantime I want you to meditate on how lucky and blessed you are to have a Father in the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember, the Word of God is none other than Jesus Christ. The Word of God is a living Person and not a dusty religious book in a shelf.

Salvation through His Words.

John 12:47-50

“And if anyone hears My words and

does not believe, I do not judge him;

for I did not come to judge the world

but to save the world.

“He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words,

has that which judges him—

the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

“For I have not spoken on My own authority;

but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command,

what I should say and what I should speak.

“And I know that His command is everlasting life.

Therefore, whatever I speak,

just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

Jesus is still in the active ministry of finding and saving that which was lost. He never retired from doing it. His teachings are still in effect, confronting people to believe in Him and live according to His lifestyle. He is the Savior of the world in active duty. Can He do it alone by Himself without the help of the church apparatus? Yes, He can. The seed which is the words of Christ and the ground which are the hearts of men are the main essential factor in the transformation of our lifestyle.

The theological terms such as; justification, sanctification, purification and many other brain twisting high-sounding terminologies may only complicate the real message of the gospel. On top of this, self-professed Bible authorities are encouraging us to learn Hebrew and Greek to understand the intricacies of the inerrant scriptural text.

The spoken word of Christ will judge us in the last day; the word will save us or condemned us depending on how we treat His words in our lifetime. This is how simple our salvation is. You may accept Christ as your savior and confess it with you mouth but if you do not follow His words, He would not recognize you as one of His.

We don’t minimize the power of faith. Is our salvation by faith only? Read what Jesus had said about it. Salvation is a working principle that we have to learn and do it consciously and purposely for the love of Christ.

Luke 6:46-49

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’

and do not do the things which I say?

“Whoever comes to Me,

and hears My sayings and does them,

I will show you whom he is like:

“He is like a man building a house,

who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock.

And when the flood arose,

the stream beat vehemently against that house,

and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.

“But he who heard and did nothing is like a man

who built a house on the earth without a foundation,

against which the stream beat vehemently;

and immediately it fell.

And the ruin of that house was great.”
